Hi everyone! For most of you, it’s the busiest time of the year, for me it’s not. So while your running errands, pushing Q4 renvenue and getting drunk at your office, here are some things to entertain you in between:
Those of you, who follow my Instagram, know: I am obsessed with Ozempic. Kaitlin Phillips‘s newsletter is the best thing written about it. I think it stops here and won’t get any better.
Right from the start, I was sure that Ozempic was one of the best things that has ever happened in the history of the world. It was very obvious to me. The media, of course, wasn’t so sure. They’re still not sure. They never are sure about anything nor are they ever quite as right as I am. That isn’t what they do. (In fact, they make things out to be a little worse than they are, usually by interviewing a bunch of uptight losers that are bound to horrify your average reader, who is cool and rich and lives on the East Coast.
Her gift guide is great, her writing even greater. (Love to give you money, Kaitlin, but miss those google docs) I’d much rather keep her to myself, but it’s the season of giving after all.
Things you can listen to
The How Long Gone guys talk to Business/Culture Substack doyenne Emily Sundberg, who got her proposal outside a laundromat. The old chinese guy did not want to take a picture, but the wedding is still going to be great. Even though this should be your most important news of the day, they also talk about Charli XCX getting married in Sicily next year. Cool invitation apparently.
Throwing fits did a nice episode with Eckhaus Latta
If - for whatever reason - you need to calm down, this is a great mediation
Things you can read
Dean Kissick’s pet peeve with (identity politics) in contemporary art has been going way back, but seems to be fully elaborated in his new Harper’s piece. Cultured men in my surroundings have already read it and say it’s a typical Dean Kissick - I will hopefully get around to it by the weekend.
He will be talking to the Red Scare girls about it:One of my favourite brands will be shutting down and they are pretty secretive about what they will be doing next: Why Saks Potts is shutting down | Vogue Business
A while back I did a post with papabogner, on how Trump and Kamala used influencers for their campaign and at the DNC. Months later Emily Sundberg summed it up perfectly after the elections and Rachel Karten explains, why legacy media needs a new social playbook. Both women are smarter than me, using better words.
Weedslut Zoe Kestan in The New York Times on how she met Hunter Biden, his crack habits and her life after that.
I was giftet a trip to Paris last week - those of you who are interested in a recap with my husband (check google docs Istanbul and Hydra) - let me know.
Have a great week and dont forget
xx, EM
